Ep 82. Mouse Trap

Wanda is sleeping, her eyes are closed. In the next panel, they open wide as she hears a drip. Because of the sound, more detail is visible from her point of view.

Wanda struggles, it is now apparent that she is upside down and tied up with gauze. She looks disturbed as she hears another drip and begins sweating. She becomes still, realizing that her own corpse is hanging next to her. Her own skinned face has been turned to face her direction.

Wanda begins hyperventilating and trembling as she grits her teeth. Now in color from the reader's point of view, it is more clear that Wanda's corpse had its blood drained by slitting her arms open over the respawn terminal drain. Text says drip, drip.

Wanda starts screaming and crying.

Sharps says, There's no meat on this thing. Gum asks, Is objectifying her part of the flaying process? Sharps holds a makeshift bone knife in one paw and holds up Wanda's skinned arm in the other. Sharps snaps back, We are objects. And as far as I'm concerned, this is a Wastes dish. Gum says, Sorry. Sharps says, Besides, this was your idea. Gum repeats, Sorry.

Gum says, I think we're both stressed. I'm just glad you're back now. Gum places her hand over Sharp's paw as it clings to Wanda's own paw. In the next panel, Gum says, I'm surprised they keep exam table paper in here. Sharps asks, Are you sure you can eat this? On the floor there is a pile of meat on top of some exam table paper. Gum says, No. But we have no choice.

Razor shouts, Ugh! Just respawn a fucking food object! Gum says, No. Fuzzball says, I'll be okay! I've always kind of wanted to try it. In the next panel, all four girls are sitting around the pile of meat. Fuzzball asks, So do you just, you know. Sharps says, You put it in your mouth and chew it.

Each character takes a bite of Wanda. Fuzzball says, Wow! Food from Grimace is so, um. Gum asks, Terrible? Fuzzball says, Yes. Sharps says, It's not supposed to be good. Fuzzball asks, Is there a reason you Wastey Wastes guys only eat people? Sharps says, The giant radioactive storm that killed all the plants and animals? Fuzzball says, Oh.

Gum says, Speaking of ever-present storms that kill things, We need to leave the Rings. Sharps asks, Why? Gum says, I wasn't sure how to tell you, but the inner Rings were destroyed. A lot of weird, terrible things have happened. Like I said. Sharps says, I figured, given the wall of corpses. Gum says, They're there for a reason.

Wanda's fingers are sticking out of Razor's mouth. Razor says, Tell her about the objects! Gum says, Don't talk with your mouth full. Sharps asks, What did she say? Gum says, Razor's talking about the uh, illness that's been going around. Fuzzball asks, In the green stuff, right? Gum says, You shouldn't talk with your mouth full either. The green stuff in the tunnel will make you sick, yes. Very.

Later, the four girls are trying to sleep. Fuzzball and Razor are sleeping together opposite from Sharps and Gum who are across the room. More Wandas have been printed, killed, and hung over the respawn terminal. Sharps says, Gum. Gum mumbles in response. Sharps asks, Can I ask you a dumb question? Gum opens her eyes and looks at her, saying, Anything, Sharps.

Sharps asks, You said that girl was gonna torture and eat us? Would you care if I turned her into a blanket? It's getting cold down here. Gum says, I never thought I'd say this, but, I'm glad you're so good at skinning people.
