Ep 111. Thank You

Dragonscale flies through the snowy sky, their tears visible behind them. She flies up the side of a tall building through a thick white cloud.
She emerges above the rooftop, the white cloud trailing off of each of her wings. Dragonscale sits against the edge of the rooftop, sniffling and sobbing while looking down at the concrete floor. In front of her, the wind blows, moving thick white fog around on the roof.
It obscures Hokkaido's twisted body, which returns to normal once it clears again. He approaches them. Dragonscale looks up at him and says, I knew you'd come.
Hokkaido says, I, didn't mean to run away. I messed up your. He is cut off by Dragonscale, who utters his name miserably in a defeated tone. The rest of the page is black, to represent a short time skip into the middle of their conversation.
Dragonscale says, She didn't believe me. Hokkaido, I'm not sure if you're even real. You always come back looking a little different, sounding a little different. Hokkaido says, I'm as real as they come, dear. Cinder, why do you stay here?
Dragonscale says, The day this all started, I lost the love of my life. The thought of going somewhere else, loving someone else, starting over again. I won't. I don't want to see the sun anymore. Crying, she says, That day, I died too.
Grimacing, Hokkaido says, You aren't dead until you can be respawned. Dragonscale stutters, You and those fucking terminals. Hokkaido says, It's true. You are very much alive. Do you think, um, she would have wanted this?
Hokkaido says, You said a woman was your guiding hand. Was it her? What would she say? Dragonscale turns around, where she sees Ghost Pepper standing off in the distance, her face obscured by her leaves.
Dragonscale thinks, She would, tell me to. She closes her eyes, and when she opens them again, Ghost Pepper hovers in front of here face, not even an inch away. Ghost Pepper finishes her thought for her, saying, Move on. Dragonscale turns back around to face the drop off. She stands up, spreading her wings. Hokkaido stands up as well.
Hokkaido asks, Well? Dragonscale looks down at her wedding ring. She pinches and twists her ring. Text says twist twist.
Dragonscale takes her ring off, winding her arm back. She then throws it off the edge of the building, to the shock of Hokkaido.
The ring disappears into the clouds below. Dragonscale stares forward with big, empty eyes. She snaps out of it when Hokkaido asks, What are you gonna do now? Dragonscale says, I'll.
I'll, thank you. She smiles. Dragonscale wraps her hands around Hokkaido's. She lifts his hands up, as Hokkaido's expression drops. Text says lift. She says, Seriously. From the bottom of my heart. Thank you.
Hokkaido stutters, Wait. Dragonscale's shadow casts against his body and face, deforming in the next panel as Hokkaido's gaze trails upwards. Dragonscale, assimilated, stands before him. Her body, twisted and large, glows with an unstable warmth that bleeds from her neck. Her face is replaced by jagged red spines, her tail contorted into a stinger.
Assimilated Dragonscale accesses the memory of where her survival partners are hiding. The assimilated object shrieks, spreading her wings. Molten substance explodes from the holes in her neck.
She leaps from the edge of the building, destroying the concrete. Text says leap and crunch as debris falls down below. Hokkaido stands still staring in shock. Assimilated Dragonscale shrieks again and again as she disappears into the clouds below, flying away.
Hokkaido stares on, beginning to transmogrify.
His body expands upwards, resembling a large centipede covered in fatty deposits. He screams in anguish.
Hokkaido chokes in his new form as he cries and insectoid wings tear from his body. Text describes the sound of his flesh tearing and expanding.
Hokkaido turns in the direction of Dragonscale, his face sunken in completely. He leaps from the edge of the building, chasing after her. Text says leap.
